1、 Coating properties

Black zinc plating and black chromium plating are both methods of coating a metal surface with a black layer to enhance its corrosion resistance and aesthetics. However, the properties of the two coatings are different.

The coating of black zinc plating is mainly composed of zinc alloy and black dye, which has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and is suitable for some products with high appearance requirements, such as furniture, automotive parts, etc.

The coating coated with black chromium is composed of chromium and black dye, which not only has excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, but also has good aesthetics, suitable for high-end industrial products and high-end household items of high-end brands.

2、 Materials and processes

In terms of materials and processes, the two types of black coatings also differ.

Black zinc plating is the process of immersing a substrate made of zinc alloy in a black dye bath, and through a chemical reaction, allowing the black dye to penetrate the surface of the zinc alloy to form a non removable black coating. Black chrome plating is achieved through electrolytic chrome plating
